The SCA UK Chapter have opened invitations to tender for the sponsorship of the next cycle of the UK Coffee Championships 2019 - 2021.

We are delighted to announce the dates and locations for the 2018 United Kingdom Barista Championship Heats.

Saturday the 2nd of December 2017 saw the UK Coffee in Good Spirits (GIGS) and Latte Art Championships return to La Marzocco's Out Of The Box event, but this year in Leeds, the home of their new regional offices. As usual La Marzocco put on not only a fantastic event but a great after party as only La Marzocco can!  The thwo competitions were spread throughout the day, with two Latte Art competitors on stage at the same time followed by a CIGS competitor. This not only proved engaging for the audience but also kept the Live Stream camera men on their toes! Image © Brian's Coffee Spot This post has been a long time coming, apologies for that, things crept up in the way, but we're here now!  As the title suggests Freda Yaun, of Caravan Coffee, the 2017 UK Cup Taster Champion did it again and has become the 2018 UK Cup Taster Champion, a few weeks ago at the Manchester Coffee Festival. We had some fantastic scores from the 33 competitors starting out in round 1 and whittled them down to the last 3 for the final round.   The final round was a winner takes all match between Freda Yuan, Katelyn Thomson &  Don Altizo and the coffee reached it's most difficult triangulation to identify.  The same coffees were used throughout the two day competition, but the...
